Portrait of Tilla Durieux
From book "My First Ninety Years"
Berlin, 1907
oil on cardboard
49.9 x 39.8 cm
MGZ 4743
The signed portrait of T. D. as Salome in the play of the same name by Oscar Wilde, directed in the Small Theatre in Berlin by Max Reinhardt. Slevogt confirmed in this portrait the way that Impressionism affected Germany painting less as a vision, and more as a revolutionary point of view.
