From book "My First Ninety Years"
Egypt, 24th or Sais Dynasty (8th-6th century BC)
bronze, a full cast
h. 6 cm

A fragment of full sculpture (in the original for certainly a bronze statuette the dimensions of which did not exceed some forty centimetres). Between 1905 and 1911, first artists, then collectors and gallerists (including Cassirer) bought Egyptian artworks. Modernism stretched out its hand to archaism.
